PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear prediction coefficient calculator for obtaining suitable prediction coefficients to compressed signal strings. SOLUTION: The linear prediction coefficient calculator is a calculator for generating linear prediction coefficients from time series signals compressing the amplitude of original signals, and includes a linear correspondence part and a prediction coefficient analysis part. The linear correspondence part performs processing nearing the time series signals to linear relationship with the original signals or performs processing making linear relationship with the original signals to generate linear correspondence signals. The prediction coefficient analysis part evaluates a difference between the time series signals of a predetermined number and time series prediction signals linearly predicting the time series signals by the linear correspondence signals and prediction coefficients to generate the prediction coefficients.
