Exploded representation generating method for three-dimensional model, involves automatically placing individual components of three-dimensional model for exploded representation based on distance determination

The method involves detecting individual components of a three-dimensional model based on three-dimensional geometry data from a CAD database and based on component data of a standard component catalog. The geometry data are evaluated for structuring the model and for detection of explosion directions. The model is successively divided into the detected components in a three-dimensional area, such that existing relations remain between the components. The individual components of the model are placed automatically for exploded representation based on a distance determination. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an arrangement for automatic generation of exploded representations of a three-dimensional model (2) a computer program with a program code for executing a method for automatic generation of exploded representations of the three-dimensional model (3) a computer program product with program code for executing a method for automatic generation of exploded representations of the three-dimensional model.
