<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound system capable of accurately measuring the volumes of a number of objects of interest. <P>SOLUTION: In this system, after ultrasound signals are transmitted to a target, the reflected signals from the target form received signals. Based on the received signals, volume data including information on a number of objects of interest, regarding the target, are produced. From users, this system receives inputs on selection information to select a cross-section base in a form of volume data, and those on cross-section information for many slices perpendicular to the cross-section base in a form of volume data as well. The outline of a cross-section base object corresponding to an object of interest is detected on the cross-section base. The outline and its corresponding points on a plurality of cross-section slices each define seed points. Based on the seed points, outlines of the cross-section slice objects corresponding to many objects of interest are each detected, so that each volume of the objects of interest is calculated based on the outline of the cross-section base object and those of cross-section slice objects. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
