<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively recover valuable metals by removing impurities such as P, S, Zn and Na incorporated in raw material composed of oxide and hydroxide containing the valuable metals such as Ni and Co. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for reducing the valuable metal raw material composed of the oxide and/or the hydroxide containing at least one of Ni and Co of≥4 mass%, the raw material contains P, S, Na, Zn and one or more gangues as the impurities, and the same ratio or more of the carbon source as molar quantity of oxygen combined with the valuable metal is mixed into the raw material, and the mixture is reduced by being heated at 500-1,000°C, thereby recovering the valuable metal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
