PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation switch can improve ease of operation in the operation switch that outputs signals, based on the result of light reception of a light receiving means in conformity with a shielded state between a light projecting means and the light receiving means, to the external device side. SOLUTION: A case 2 includes: a base 9 with a light projecting element 11 or light receiving element 12 disposed at the rear end; and a peeler 10 extending from the base along the direction perpendicular to the base 9 and while disposing the other projecting element 11 or light receiving element 12 at the chip. The base 9 and the peeler 10 are formed so that light emitted from the projecting element 11 is made incident on the light receiving element 12 after passing through a space above the base 9 and behind the peeler 10.
