PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a sheet from being wrongly inserted into a space between a driver arm and a handle member. SOLUTION: The driver arm 2 and a magazine unit 3 are pivoted at a rear end of a clincher arm member 1 and the rear end of the handle member 4 positioned at the opposite side of the magazine unit 3 to the driver arm 2 is pivoted closer to a leading end side than a pivoted position. A booster mechanism is arranged between the handle member 4 and the driver arm 2 in a position further closer to the leading end than the pivoted position of the handle member 4. A binding operation is carried out by lowering a driver together with the driver arm 2 through the rotation of the handle member 4 in a stapler. A sheet insertion prevention member 28 for preventing the sheet from being inserted into the space 27 between the driver arm 2 and the handle member 4 is disposed in the stapler.
