PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an elastic body roller for manufacturing the elastic body roller having an outer peripheral face having uniform surface roughness efficiently in a short time. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the elastic body roller comprises a process for grinding the outer peripheral face of the roller having an elastic body layer at the outer periphery of a shaft body by using a grinding machine of a plunge type provided with a cylindrical grinding wheel having a longer length in the axial direction than a length in the axial direction of the elastic body layer.
