PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for changing a laying head on a wire rolling line with which the productivity of that line is improved by minimizing the stopping time for changing a laying pipe on the wire rolling line. SOLUTION: This device 1A for changing the laying head on the wire rolling line which is simultaneously provided with a pair (a plurality) of trucks d1, d2 which are provided with the laying pipe p for forming a hot-rolled rectilinear wire w into a spiral shape along the feeding direction and the laying head h for supporting that laying pipe p rotatably, the trucks d1, d2 are arranged so as to be changeable between the inside (1) of the wire rolling line L and the outside of the line L. The truck d2 situated on the outside of the line L is supported in a position in the cross direction of the truck d1 situated on the inside of the line L on a master truck D which is movable along the line L and stand by traversably on the rails R2 on one side between a plurality of sets of traverse rails R1, R2 which are laid on that master truck D.
