PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting and recovering apparatus which saves a space, can surely sort blanked chips, and which, even when a recovering box becomes full, can cope with it. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with: a waste receiving part which is trumpet-shaped and opened upward for receiving the waste which is moved and dropped by a moving means for moving the waste such as the blanked chips discharged from working machines to the waste yard of the waste; a dropping hole which is opened in the middle bottom part of the waste receiving part; a rotary chute which is freely rotatably provided to the lower part of the dropping hole and which changes the dropping direction of the waste dropped from the dropping hole in a prescribed direction; a driving means for rotating the rotary chute; and a plurality of recovery regions which are arranged equally downward around the axis of rotation of the rotary chute, and is further provided with a control means which controls the driving means in accordance with the kinds of the wastes and moves the rotary chute so that the waste is dropped into the recovering regions which are set in accordance with the kinds of the waste.
