PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backwashing filter with a small floor area, equipped with a pressure accumulator for backwashing accumulating sufficient air with simple structure. SOLUTION: The backwashing filter 1 includes a filtering chamber 5 equipped with a filter element 4, and a clean chamber 6 for primary storage of clean liquid filtered in the filtering chamber. Treating liquid is passed into the inside 4b from the outside 4a of the filter element in a steady operation, and air pressure is fed to the clean chamber in a cleaning operation, and the filtrate or air is reversely sent into the filter element. The filtering chamber and the clean chamber are vertically adjacently disposed and formed in a vertically extended cylindrical vessel 2, a tubular pressure accumulating pipe 40 is provided in the longitudinal direction of the outer periphery of the cylindrical vessel 2, the pressure accumulating pipe is connected to an air pressure source, and the pressure accumulating pipe is communicated with the clean chamber via a pressure control valve 44 and an open/close valve 23 for air supply in the backwashing time.
