PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid catalytic cracking catalyst which has a large pore volume and further, a high abrasion resistance, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The fluid catalytic cracking catalyst is obtained by spraying and drying an inorganic oxide matrix precursor containing basic aluminum chloride, and is characterized in that a sulfated product of 1-8 mass% is supported as SO<SB>4</SB>. Further, the pore volume of the pore having a pore diameter of 5.5-1,000 nm measured by the mercury intrusion technique is 0.15-0.40 ml/g. After a catalyst composition is obtained by the spraying and drying of the inorganic oxide matrix precursor containing basic aluminum chloride, sulfuric acid or sulfated product is supported on the catalyst composition. Sulfuric acid or sulfated product of 1-8 mass% is supported as SO<SB>4</SB>to the fluid catalytic cracking catalyst. Furthermore, in the sulfated product, counterions to SO<SB>4</SB>are NH<SB>4</SB>, Al, Na, Mg, Ba, K, Ca, Fe, Li, Be, Zr, Cs, Ce, Ti, and Mn. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
