PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser resonator capable of improving Hold-off performance by preventing deterioration in performance of a Q switch. SOLUTION: The laser resonator is provided with: a laser medium 12 for generating a laser light 7; a pair of reflection mirrors 13, 14 for forming a reference point 21 for collecting laser light therebetween with the laser medium sandwiched in an axial direction; an image transfer optical system 16 disposed between one of the reflection mirrors and the reference point, and transferring the beam profile of a laser beam at the reference point to a transfer point 22 on the axial line; and the Q switch 18 disposed on a beam waist in the image transfer optical system and its near field.
