A radiation-sensitive composition for the formation of colored layers, which can form pixels which have a moderate normal-taper form and are excellent in retention of film thickness and in close adhesion even when the exposure energy is low. A radiation-sensitive composition for the formation of colored layers which comprises (A) a coloring agent, (B) an alkali -soluble resin, (C) a polyfunctional monomer and (D) a photo- polymerization initiator, characterized in that a compound having both a caprolactone structure and two or more polymerizable unsaturated linkages in the molecule is contained as the monomer (C) in an amount of 100 to 300 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin (B).
