A method, system and session control unit for reducing network flow of Internet, the method includes steps of: receiving a content request message (102); inquiring if there is the data corresponding to the content which is requested by the content request message in the network, and selecting a content copy node according to the inquiring result (103); the selected content copy node being commanded to copy and transmit the data to the request node (103). The session control unit includes a receiving unit, an inquiring unit, a selecting unit and a command sending unit. The system includes a session control unit and a content copy node. The solutions of the invention can intellectually select the content copy node via identifying the request message of the user, and the data is copied and transmitted by the selected content copy node, thereby effectively reducing the network flow and load.
