A method for decomposition of a volatile aromatic compound is provided to disassemble the volatile aromatic compound rapidly by contacting a photocatalyst element layer with a photocatalyst element dispersed solution. A method for decomposition of a volatile aromatic compound includes the following steps of: producing the volatile aromatic compound by dispersing a titanium oxide photocatalyst particle and a photocatalysis oxidation tungsten particle in a dispersion medium under optical irradiation; applying a photocatalyst element dispersed solution in which the titanium oxide photocatalyst particle and the photocatalysis oxidation tungsten particle are charged on a substrate; contacting the solution with a photocatalyst element layer.
