<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical product, a cosmetic, food and beverage or other products capable of ameliorating, treating or preventing allergic diseases and other inflammatory diseases caused by Th2-dominant state, by improving balance between type 1 helper T cells (hereinafter abbreviated as Th1) and type 2 helper T cells (hereinafter abbreviated as Th2) and shifting from Th2-dominant state to Th1-dominant state. <P>SOLUTION: An inducer for improving the Th1/Th2 balance and shifting from Th2-dominant state to Th1-dominant state comprises a Grifola frondosa extract as an active ingredient, provided that the Grifola frondosa extract is obtained by extracting a fruit body or a mycelium of Grifola frondosa with hot water, adding an alcohol to an extracted water-soluble fraction, leaving the mixture and recovering a substance floating at the surface of or in the mixture or attached to a container.
