PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively perform a countermeasure against a flicker in response to a change of a light source. SOLUTION: The change of the light source is detected in a live view mode irrespective of whether a line flicker is generated in an image displayed in a display unit. When the change of the light source is detected, a flicker detection operation is started, and it is detected whether the line flicker is generated in the image displayed in the display unit.
