PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of preventing its chattering while stabilizing a locking state at the time of engagement. SOLUTION: The connector includes a pair of connector housings 10, 30, the connector housing 10 having a flexible lock arm 16 with a locking part 17 on its end and the other connector housing 30 having an engaging projection 37 projectingly formed therein. Upon mutual fitting of both connector housings 10, 30, a locking part 17 gets over the engaging projection 37 while the lock arm 16 is elastically deformed. A tapered inclined surface 38a getting higher as it goes backward in relation to the engaging projection 37 is formed in the connector 1 wherein the locking part 17 is locked on the back 37b of the engaging projection 37 by making the lock arm 16 elastically return, and the locking part 17 is located on the inclined surface 38a while the locking part 17 is locked on the back 37b of the engaging projection 37.
