PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and a control device for driving a surface light-emitting light source equipped in parallel with a plurality of organic EL element groups connected in series. SOLUTION: In the control device 300, for example, by measuring a current flowing through a resistor R1 connected in series to the series-connection organic EL element group 51 while changing a gate voltage of MOSFET M1 connected in series to the resistor R1, data showing a relation (load line) between the current flowing through the series-connection organic EL element group 51 and the gate voltage of MOSFET M1 are obtained and memorized in advance. In addition, the current flowing through respective organic EL element groups connected in series during driving is set. Then, so that the electric currents flowing through the respective series-connection organic EL element groups become equal during driving, the current flowing through the resistors (R1 to R5) connected in series to the respective series-connection organic EL element groups is measured, and based on the data obtained in advance, the gate voltages of MOSFET (M1 to M5) are controlled so that the average electric current becomes to have a set value.
