PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a depth data generator that generates depth data at high speed by reducing deficit and noise about the depth information of each pixel of an object image being a stereo image. SOLUTION: The generator receives a taken video, and separates each image of the received video into a background image and an object image being a subject. Then, a first contour pixel located in the contour among each pixel of the object image is specified, and the processing for specifying the nth (n=1 to N) contour pixel of the next contour except the specified pixel is repeated sequentially in an inside direction from the first contour pixel. Also, a depth value is assigned sequentially in an ascending or descending order from the first contour pixel to the nth contour pixel. Then, depth value data for holding the assigned depth value is generated with respect to each pixel of the object image, and the depth data of each image in the video is output.
