<p>The system has an engine movement module selecting multiple engine rotation modes, based on camshaft movement, crankshaft movement, engine speed, camshaft speed, starter motor operational state and current engine rotation mode, where the engine rotation modes are selected from assisted spinning mode, flare mode, un-sustained spinning mode, crank stopped mode and spinning mode. A diagnostic module enables multiple engine diagnostic modes based on the selected engine rotation modes. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting rotation of an internal combustion engine.</p> |
