<p>Provided is a currency processing machine that makes it possible to simplify the process of reconciling the operating cash stored in a cash register, including rolls of coins. The currency processing machine sorts and counts the inserted currency by denomination; stores the currency in storage compartments provided per denomination, or in a storage compartment for mixed denominations; and, based on a withdrawal instruction from a higher controller, decides on denomination and quantity and disburses change from the storage compartment. The currency processing machine comprises: a first memory (34a) which stores data on the quantity of currency stored; operation keys (35a) which indicate the monetary value of currency to be left in the storage compartment; a second memory (34b) which, based on the monetary amount indicated by the operation keys (35a), stores the quantity of currency to be left in the storage compartment for each denomination, as well as in the coin roll drawer; a calculation unit (36) which compares the data stored in the first and second memories (34a, 34b), and based on the comparison result, decides the quantity of currency to be retrieved from the storage compartment for each denomination, as well as from the coin roll drawer; and a coin roll processor (37) which counts coin rolls.</p> |
