METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR UPDATING MAP USING OVER-THE-AIR FUNCTION

A method for offering a map update service by using the OTA(Over-The-Air) and a navigation service system thereof are provided to offer the map update service to a user quickly in real time. A map information system(100) requests an OTA service so that update map information can be transmitted if a map is updated. An OTA server(130) performs a control action so that an OTA channel for a terminal can be established according to the OTA service request. A transmission network(140) interworks with the OTA server to establish the OTA channel and then transmits a message in which the update map information is included to the terminal through the established OTA channel.
