A method and an apparatus for preventing an error of Bluetooth communication are provided to solve the wrong operation caused by the difference between versions of hands-free profiles. A first command including functional information of a slave device is received from a slave device(201), and the supporting function of the slave device is analyzed through the first command(203). According to the analyzed result, some function among the support functions of a master device is excluded. The excluded function are identical to the supportable function of the slave device(205,209). A second command including the function information from which some function is excluded is transmitted to the slave device(211).
