A cosmetic composition containing a Brassocattleya marcella Koss orchid extract is provided to prevent or delay the symptom of intrinsic or extrinsic skin aging. A cosmetic composition comprises a variant Brassocattleya marcella Koss extract. The variant Brassocattleya marcella Koss extract is isolated using polar solvent or mixture of polar solvents. The polar solvent is water, C1-C4 alcohol such as ethanol, ethylene glycol, glycerol, butylenes glycol, propylene glycol or their mixture.
