RECEIVER FOR RECEIVING EMERGENCY EARLY WARNING IN DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION BROADCAST, AND TRANSMISSION APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING EMERGENCY EARLY WARNING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and surely transmit the Earthquake Early Warning to a digital terrestrial television broadcast receiver.

SOLUTION: The receiver includes: a demodulation section 43, in which it is specified beforehand to transmit telegraphic message information from a transmitting side by an AC carrier, the telegraphic message information storing therein the same phase reference and synchronizing signal as a TMCC signal, having the same frame length as the TMCC signal, a flag discriminating presence/absence of at least the Earthquake Early Warning, and an emergency early warning including the Earthquake Early Warning, and which receives a digital terrestrial television broadcast wave to demodulate the AC carrier; a monitoring means 52 which performs frame synchronization based on the phase reference and the synchronizing signal to monitor only a value of the flag at all the time; a decoding means 45 for decoding the Earthquake Early Warning only when the monitoring means 52 discriminates a flag value representing that the flag is the Earthquake Early Warning; and a predictive information calculating means 46 for calculating, from information of the decoded Earthquake Early Warning, predictive information such as seismic intensity in the area where the relevant receiver is located, and predictive time of arrival.
