<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface circuit capable of surely notifying a partner about a plurality of errors detected at the same time, without increasing its circuit scale, and an information processing apparatus equipped with the interface circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The interface control circuit includes an error detection unit, an error selection unit, an error message transmission request control unit, and an error message transmission unit. The error detection unit detects errors in a transaction layer packet that is transferred over a serial bus. The error selection unit classifies the errors into predetermined kinds of errors. The error message transmission request control unit determines whether a circuit opposite to the interface control circuit over the serial bus should be notified about each kind of error classified, and outputs a transmission request if it determines that the circuit should be notified.
