<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rewrite new firmware by reducing power necessary for rewriting a flash memory, securing the safety of a member which may be carelessly operated in rewiring and safely erasing the flash memory. <P>SOLUTION: Processing started from S1 performs operation as a normal camera in S2. In S3, whether firmware updating is to be executed or not is determined, and when the firmware updating is to be executed, an external memory is inserted into a camera unit to start firmware updating operation. In S4, a lens unit performs driving system stop operation to suitably stop the drive of a VAP, the drive of a lens, the drive of an iris, and the drive of a shutter. In S5, a power supply other than a power supply for rewriting a flash ROM which is necessary for firmware updating is turned off by a command from a lens microcomputer. In S6, the lens microcomputer receives firmware data from a camera microcomputer and repeatedly writes the received firmware data in the flash ROM to perform processing for changing the firmware to new firmware. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
