PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platen which can carry out frame-less image recording without the back surface of a paper P being stained. SOLUTION: A plurality of in-region supporting ribs 51 in a recording region ENR on the platen 26 project high from ink flow channel grooves 55. At least one in-region supporting rib 51a among the plurality of ribs 51 is formed longer than other supporting ribs 51, extending to approach a top part 48 as the conveyance upstream side on a downstream side supporting part 47. A height of the supporting rib 51a is set lower than heights of the top part 48 and upstream side ribs 44. A longitudinally long groove 52 is formed which is open towards the upstream side on the conveyance upper stream side from the top part 48. A conveyance downstream side end part of at least one supporting rib 51a within the region is formed to be fitted in the longitudinally long groove 52 to overlap with a part of the downstream side supporting part 47 when the platen 26 is projected and seen from a side surface. Moreover, the conveyance downstream side end part is non-continuous with an upstream side longitudinal wall of the top part 48 of the downstream side supporting part 47.
