<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform image processing for generating new compressed image databased on a part of a plurality of compressed image data. <P>SOLUTION: Photoviewer PV expands compressed raster data Rs, which is a part of a compressed source frame 42 stored in a frame memory 40, to generate first expanded partial data. From that data, the expanded data of a source region Ds within a predetermined range is cut out. Compressed raster data Rd, which is a part of a compressed destination frame 44 stored in the frame memory 40, is expanded to generate second expanded partial data. A destination region Dd of the second expanded partial data is overwritten with the expanded data of the source region Ds, and the resulting data is compressed to generate a compressed raster data Rd2.
