PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively transmit attribute information of a file which a user desires, with no requirement for special configuration of an electronic apparatus to be connected. SOLUTION: On receiving a transfer command for an image, a DSC1 displays an image file specifying menu screen 20. According to specification of an image file by a user, either of USB mass storage class and PTP is determined as a protocol to be used. The DSC1 issues ObjectHandle only to the image file specified by the user if PTP is used. The DSC1, after connection to a PC5 through a USB cable 6, transmits attribute information of the specified image file to the PC5 using the determined protocol, and thereby only the information about the specified image file is displayed on a display part of the PC5.
