PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that display irregularities are caused since variations in the characteristic of a driving transistor cannot be corrected sufficiently.

SOLUTION: As an initializing voltage for a driving transistor before an offset canceling operation, different voltages are applied so as to adjust the gate voltage-drain current characteristic of the transistor. This facilitates the cancellation of variations in the characteristic of the driving transistor even if a canceling time is short.
