<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer of high transparency which has a combination of high refractive index and a high Abbe number. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer has, as its structural unit, a recurring unit having a sulfo group and a 1,4-dithiane ring, both of which are bound to each other via sulfide group bound directly to the 2- and 5-position of the dithiane ring. A method for producing the above polymer is also provided, comprising conducting a Michael addition polymerization between divinylsulfone and 2,5-dimercapto-1,4-dithiane containing more cis-form highly soluble to various solvents than trans-form. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
