<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bobbin type lithium battery, having a structure in which manganese oxide is used as a cathode and a sealing body is sealed by caulking, and a heat resistance property is markedly enhanced and usage as a substitute of an ER type cell is made possible. <P>SOLUTION: The bobbin shaped lithium cell 1 is provided with: a cathode can 11 of a bottomed cylindrical shape, having a beading portion 10 on its circumference in which a cathode mixture 21, composed mainly of manganese oxide formed in a cylindrical shape and an anode lithium 22 of a cylindrical shape facing the cathode mixture with a separator 23 in-between are enclosed; and an anode terminal 31 is mounted on the beading portion as a seat which projects in the cathode can with a gasket 34 in-between, and the open port is caulked for sealing.
