PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester extra fine drawn yarn for obtaining a polyester fabric that maintains performance such as a soft feeling, moisture retaining property, water absorption, moisture absorption property, or the like which a conventional extra fine drawn yarn has and excellent antistatic performance, and to provide a method for stably producing the same. SOLUTION: The antistatic sheath-core polyester extra fine drawn yarn satisfying specific requirements includes a sheath-core conjugate fiber in which the core part is made of an antistatic polyester A containing a specific antistatic agent represented by the following formula: Z-[(CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O)n(R<SP>1</SP>O)m-R<SP>2</SP>]k (wherein Z is a 1-6C active hydrogen atom-containing organic compound residue; R<SP>1</SP>is an alkylene group or substituted alkylene group having a carbon number not less than 6; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a 1-40C monovalent hydrocarbon group, a 2-40C monofunctional hydroxy hydrocarbon or a 2-40C monovalent acyl group ; k is an integer of 1-6; n is an integer satisfying n≥70/k; and m is an integer not less than 1), and the sheath part is composed of a polyester B containing 0-10 wt.% of a matting agent.
