PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic train control device capable of further miniaturizing the control device by reducing a treatment content performed by an on-vehicle control device. SOLUTION: The train travels on a track installed with a wayside coil near the track while performing transmission/receiving of information using a ground control device and a transmission means. The respective wayside coils retain an inherent symbol and transmits it to the train near it, and the ground control device retains a corresponding relationship of a position of the wayside coil installed near the track and the inherent symbol possessed by the wayside coil. The train receives the inherent symbol possessed by the wayside coil installed near the track and transmits it to the ground control device together with train speed information. The ground control device determines a position of the train by the inherent symbol of the wayside coil received from the train, determines requirement of brake of the train by a train speed, a train position and an allowance speed pattern relative to the train, and transmits the determination result to the train.
