The unit has two rotating sliders (17) that are arranged at a distance from each other, where each slider has a guiding slot for accommodating a bar guide (10) arranged at a cover (2) of a vehicle roof. The sliders are attached to curved path of the bar guide in its rotating position and arranged in a cage that is manufactured from plastic, where the cage is inserted into a housing comprising a rectangular cross-section. Damping layers made from ethylene propylene diene monomer and thermoplastic elastomer are arranged between the cage and the housing. An independent claim is also included for a cover of a vehicle roof comprising a slider unit.
