Intended is to calculate simply the degree of correlation between a first event and a second event, which occur repeatedly in an observation target device. Provided is a detecting device for detecting the degree of correlation between the first event and the second event, which occur repeatedly in a device to be observed. The detecting device comprises an acquisition unit for acquiring a second event counted value of the number for the second event to occur in a first period from the occurrence of the first event to the next occurrence of the first event, a measuring unit for measuring the number of observations of the second event counted value, for each of the second event counted values, and a calculating unit for calculating the degree of correlation between the first event and the second event, on the basis of the observation numbers of each second event counted value.
