<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing apparatus and a video recording reservation method capable of preventing video recording reservation from being canceled or modified by mistake. <P>SOLUTION: A video recorder equipped with an Internet connection function for performing video recording reservation based on electronic mail transmitted from a control terminal, such as a personal computer or a cellular phone connectable to the Internet. The video recorder generates an identification code from random numbers and stores it when receiving video recording reservation mail, transmits to the control terminal reservation list mail describing this identification code, receives returned mail with a cancel number described by the control terminal, reads an identification code from the mail and collates with the identification code stored in the video recorder, confirms the genuineness of the recording reservation mail based on the collating result, and cancels the reservation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
