<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board electronic device which can shorten a time until recorded content data are reproduced and efficiently utilize a mounted hardware source, and to provide a recording and reproducing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The on-board electronic device 2 includes: a TS decoder 40 to extract data for reproduction by decoding identification data of content data; an MPEG decoder 50A to decode the data for reproduction extracted by the TS decoder 40; a recoding device 80 to record the content data; a TS multiplexing section 110 to multiplex a plurality of content data recorded in the recording device 80; and a controller 100A to control the reproduction of the multiplexed content data.
