<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity display management device for displaying perishable commodities such as fresh foods or frozen foods stored in a showcase so as not to be exposed to the air as much as possible, allowing a customer to touch and select a commodity, and eliminating need of heavy shopping cart, thereby facilitating smooth shopping. <P>SOLUTION: The commodity display management device includes: a lock control means 1 for controlling a lock state of a shelf on the front side where a customer 100 looks at a commodity and on the clerk side where a salesclerk 200 supplies or takes out a commodity; a commodity identification information 3 for identifying a commodity; and a commodity status detection means 2 for detecting the status of the commodity in terms of selection and settlement by the customer 100 on the basis of the commodity identification information 3.
