PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a degradation time in a disk failure of a disk array device. SOLUTION: The disk array device includes: a disk array part having a plurality of disk devices constituting an array, and a standby disk device; and a disk array control part for controlling the disk array part. The disk array device includes a means for predicting the failure of the plurality of disk devices; a means for determining the number of disk devices with at least the highest failure probability based on the failure probability of the plurality of disk devices predicted by the failure predicting means; and a means for duplicating the content of the disk device with the highest failure probability into the standby disk device when the number of disk devices with the highest failure probability is one, and duplicating the content of each of the plurality of disk devices by 1/m into the standby disk device when the number of disk devices with the highest failure probability is m (m is an integer of 2 or more).
