PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a near-infrared absorbing film of which the layer (hereafter referred to as an adhesive layer) prepared by applying an adhesive has near-infrared absorbing capacity, which is excellent in dry heat resistance and wet heat resistance, and which retains excellent optical characteristics, and to provide an optical filter for a plasma display panel (PDP) using it. SOLUTION: The optical filter for the PDP is obtained by using the near-infrared absorbing film produced by disposing the adhesive layer formed of the adhesive containing an acrylic resin, a diimmonium-based pigment expressed by formula (1), and an ionic liquid on a surface of a transparent substrate film as an indispensable component, and laminating another functional film thereon.
