PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a load stress to be dispersed and acted and also to be recieved with high support strength even when forced rotary displacement force is inputted when locking the rotation to a connecting device for connecting two object members so as to rotate relatively to each other like a reclining device. SOLUTION: The reclining device 4 has a ratchet 10, a guide 20, and poles 30 and 30. By engaging external tooth parts 30a and 30a with the internal tooth part 12a of the ratchet 10 as the state of being supported in the circumferential direction by the guide 20, the poles 30 and 30 lock the relative rotation between them. The tooth shape of a configuration tooth formed on the end part side in the circumferential direction of the external tooth parts 30a and 30a is formed by notching only an inclined tooth surface on the opposite side of a direction to the end part in the circumferential direction in the engaged state of the internal tooth part 12a and the external tooth parts 30a and 30a so as to be separated in the circumferential direction from the inclined tooth surface of the configuration tooth of the internal tooth part 12a to be engaged with the tooth surface in correspondence.
