THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR CEREBRAL INFARCTION

It is found that bradykinin is involved in the formation/expansion of a focus of cerebral infarction through a bradykinin B1 receptor, and it is also found that a compound having a bradykinin B1 receptor antagonistic activity can inhibit the formation/expansion of cerebral infarction. Disclosed is an ameliorating or recurrence-preventing agent for cerebral infarction, which comprises a compound having a bradykinin B1 receptor antagonistic activity as an active ingredient. Also disclosed is a method for the screening of an ameliorating or recurrence-preventing agent for cerebral infarction by selecting a compound having a bradykinin B1 receptor antagonistic activity.
