<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device in which a force by a user can be transferred sufficiently to a connector and it is easy to be removed. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 41 includes a light source device body 41A to emit light and a lamp housing 414 to store the light source device body 41A. The light source device body 41A includes the connector 415 in order to be electrically connected to a ballast unit to drive the light source device 41. The lamp housing 414 includes a connector holding means 55 for holding the connector 415, and a handle 56 in order to grip the light source device 41. The handle 56 is connected to the connector holding means 55. According to such a constitution, the force by the user can be transferred sufficiently to the connector 415, and the connector 415 can be pulled out easily.
