<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection performance in detecting the center of a vertebra in medical image. <P>SOLUTION: A vertebral center detecting device obtains a plurality of medical images showing cross-sectional surfaces of the vertebra imaged in advance, detects a spinal region in one of the plurality of medical images, generates a central line of a spine from a central point in the detected spinal region, generates a longitudinal surface showing a longitudinal surface of the vertebra, and obtains the central line of the vertebra from a positional relation between the central line of the spine and the vertebra. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
