<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image formation without causing the deterioration of image quality even if a cartridge or a toner which is not a genuine product is used. <P>SOLUTION: When the cartridge attached to an apparatus body is a non-genuine product (step S13; NO), or when the cartridge is a genuine product but the toner stored therein is a non-genuine product (step S15; NO), a control part informs a user that the non-genuine product is used, and receives an input of an instruction whether or not to continue printing (step S17).
