PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detection resistor of a simple structure achieving surface mounting and cost reduction. SOLUTION: The current detection resistor 10 is formed by bending a metal resistance wire to a rectangular form having a wire end including side 11 with the metal resistance wire disconnection parts 15, a wire end opposite side 12, a first connecting side 13 and a second connecting side 14. The wire end including side 11 is disposed on one land 21a of a pair of lands 21a, 21b oppositely disposed on a circuit board 20 and the wire end opposite side 12 is disposed on the other land 21b to be surface-mounted by soldering. Therefore, the first and second connecting sides 13, 14 are bridged between the lands 21a, 21b of the circuit board 20, so that the resistance load is halved as compared with one metal resistance wire bridged between the lands 21a, 21b to allow higher current flowing.
