PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate with which patient does an image file concern in the stage of thumbnail display without making an inspection staff take time and labor. SOLUTION: When an inspection is started, the CPU of a processor unit displays a template 54 on a monitor. The inspection staff inputs patient information 55 to the template 54 and clicks a completion button 58. When input completion is instructed, the CPU displays the template 54 in a full screen size, performs still image recording and acquires an index file 53 for displaying only the patient information 55. The inspection staff starts observation inside a body cavity thereafter and acquires a still image file in which an observation image is recorded as a still image, as needed. When performing the thumbnail display of the still image file, the CPU generates an index reduced image on the basis of the index file 53 and includes it in a thumbnail display image.
